Plan B is his music artist name which the fans of his music can identify. Lastly, the section "album" allows the audience to access Ben Drew's music part which they can consume. This is will be convincing for the consumers to purchase the Ill manors products.
3) Now look at Plan B's official website. How does it use social media in terms of content and design? Why might the website designers have wanted to create the look and feel of a social networking site?
On Plan B's official website, the design of it is quite amazing as the way it has synergy with the movie and the layout of it. Firstly, the background of the website is of London which shows the location of where Ill manors was mainly filmed. This is a very good background as the consumers can identify with the image. Also, the fencing background is a very urban and gritty look which has a synergy with the narrative of the movie because the movie is about the corrupted youths and adults that live in a gritty and urban side of London. Also, in terms of content, it uses social media as the website seems very interactive as with the layout of it. It has big blocks of videos, images and texts which the consumers can click on straight away to get more information. It also has the hashtag trend which has a synergy with all the other texts of Ill Manors. Moreover, the website designers wanted to create this look because it looks more engaging for the audience. The use of different colours is enlightening and catches the audience's eyes. Lastly, it shows many quotes and tweets from other people about the Ill manors production.

4) Scroll back through the wall to look at posts from around the release date of Ill Manors. How does this statement on Ill Manors link to other texts we have studied as part of this case study? Do you agree with his claim that he "won't justify" the riots? What does this statement suggest about the representation of young people in Plan B's film and music videos?

5) Why do you think social media is overtaking official websites in terms of film promotion?
Social Media is overtaking official websites in terms of film promotion due to the following reasons;
  • Social media is more interactive; the audience feel more engaged with whatever the text is.
  • With social Media, it is accessible to many and the videos and other medias tend to be promoted widely and quickly which means it goes viral really quickly.
  • More people use social media rather than go onto the official website for information.
